Goldenberg & Skye Live

goldenskye

Last night I went down to the World Famous Genghis Cohen for New York-style Sichuan Chinese grub, Garlic Martini cocktails and some absolutely incredible live Acoustic Guitar music from Mark Goldenberg and Eric Skye. If you’ve never heard of these amazing Musicians, you really need to check them out and a give a listen to their incredible Guitar playing. Mark Goldenberg has played and recorded with some of the greats including Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt and Willie Nelson…..just to name a few. Mark just wrapped a two year tour with Hugh Laurie and has been focusing on Finger Style guitar for the last year or so. Eric Skye is a phenomenal player and teacher. I’ve blogged recently about his excellent 30 Day Guitar Challenge videos which I feel are a must watch for all Guitar players. He specializes in creating a groove using influences from Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, Funk and Classical guitar. Eric has put out some amazing solo Acoustic Fingerstyle music and is a must see anytime he is in town. These two playing together for their new CD release, Artifact, was something special to watch. Eric told me this CD was recorded live, with each song done in one take and the two Guitar players just grooving and playing off each other…..very organic and entertaining music to witness live.
