I closed out this 4th of July weekend by going to see John Mayall play live at The Canyon Club. Not only is John Mayall a British Blues Legend, but it is absolutely amazing that he is still out touring at the age of 81. His voice and keyboard playing have simplified over the years, but I would say he is still ripping it up on the Harmonica. His touring band, consisting of Rocky Athas (Guitar), Greg Rzab (Bass) and Jay Davenport (Drums), are really great as well, and this helps support the music that John has been playing since the early 60’s. Overall, a great way to end this Holiday weekend with a nice traditional Blues show.
